This is Ms. Friska’s website where I share my experience and strategies to promote reading is fun to people around, and now to you too 🙂 Today’s library session topic is about imaginative story and the title of the book is Little Cloud. I have the recorded storytelling below, please have a watch 🙂
The Story
All you need to do is looking out your window and see if your little cloud might turned himself into something fancy.
The Author
Eric Carle was born in Syracuse, New York, in 1929, he moved with his parents to Germany when he was six years old; he was educated there, and graduated from the prestigious art school, the Akademie der bildenden Künste, in Stuttgart. But his dream was always to return to America, the land of his happiest childhood memories. So, in 1952, with a fine portfolio in hand and forty dollars in his pocket, he arrived in New York. Soon he found a job as a graphic designer in the promotion department of The New York Times. Later, he was the art director of an advertising agency for many years.
One day, respected educator and author, Bill Martin Jr, called to ask Eric Carle to illustrate a story he had written. Bill’s eye had been caught by a striking picture of a red lobster that Eric had created for an advertisement. Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? was the result of their collaboration. It is still a favorite with children everywhere. This was the beginning of Eric Carle’s true career. Soon Eric was writing his own stories, too. His first wholly original book was 1,2,3 to the Zoo, followed soon afterward by the celebrated classic, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art is founded by Eric Carle and his wife for developing enthusiasts for the art of picture books and in encouraging the habit of museum going in our younger visitors. It is a museum that exhibits the work of national and international picture book artists.
The museum collects, preserves, presents, and celebrates picture books and picture book illustrations from around the world. In addition to underscoring the cultural, historical, and artistic significance of picture books and their art form, it offers educational programs that provide a foundation for arts integration and literacy. The museum houses more than 11,000 objects, including 7,300 permanent collection illustrations, three art galleries, an art studio, a theater, picture book and scholarly libraries, and educational programs for families, scholars, educators, and schoolchildren. Educational offerings include professional training for educators around the country and four onsite graduate programs in Children’s Literature in collaboration with Simmons University.
The 40,000 sq. ft. building itself is a beautiful, spacious and light-filled space with a large main hall, three galleries, a café, an art studio, an auditorium and a museum shop. Since its opening on November 22, 2002, the Museum has welcomed more than 750,000 visitors, including more than 50,000 school children, mounted more than 80 exhibitions, and held more than 100 workshops for educators.
